About
The HalOtis website is devoted to providing a time line of the development of a great company.
This blog came about as a result of several failed business opportunities. Each one was a learning experience. We realized that other people might like the chance to learn about what we were trying. This blog is a place to document our attempts at making it big online, and hopefully create a community around learning to create passive income.
There was the attempt to build a robot to compete in the NASA moon rover competition, which made it through the initial design phase, but quickly lost momentum as there were no immediate clients, no revenue, and only a small chance at actually winning the prize.
Then theBrig.org was started as a news aggregation site where we could put our spin on the technical news of the day. That worked for a while too, we managed to attract a reasonable amount of traffic starting off by submitting stories to engadget.com and digg.com. However the regular posting required dedicated time neither I nor my partners could dedicate to the site. After several successful articles attracting what we considered to be pretty impressive levels of traffic the revenue from the Google ads was a mere $40 after several months. That disappointment eventually led to the failure of theBrig.
Currently, development is centered around exploring the possibilities of internet marketing to build passive income. HalOtis is managing a number of websites and has plans for many more in the pipeline. The strategy is to create a web “presence” and create a network of websites that collectively will attract large amounts of traffic.
