Japanese robot to train doctors

Robot ExhibitionYahoo! News has a story about how ambitious Japanese researchers are developing a robot to train doctors. A research team from Nagoya University has unvieled their working prototype at the launch of the previously reported Internaional Robot Exhibition.

“The so-called Micro Surgery Robot resembles a surgeon and enters the fake blood vessels of a translucent human-shaped dummy.

By guiding the robot, a medical student or a doctor can learn about endovascular treatment, or operations in which patients are treated through tubes inserted into their veins.”

This instruction of noninvasive techniques is an Incredible application of very sensitive robotics Technology that underscores Japan’s place at the forefront of Robotics Research.
